Day 01: Cusco – KM 104 – Aguas Calientes

Our day begins with a morning train to kilometer 104 of the rail line, passing by snowcapped mountains, diverse ecosystems, and ancient ruins along the way. The train will depart from Cusco in the early morning and arrive Chachabamba(2,100 meters) we pass through a control point and begin our hike.   We hike the three hours to the Wiñaywayna archeological zone and enjoy a guided visit We’ll stop at the Sun gate (Intipunku) entrance before our final descent. we’ll break at several more lookout points for additional photo opportunities. By the time we´ll visit Machu Picchu  briefly before heading down to the town of Aguas Calientes where we’ll settle in at a hotel for a good shower, and maybe an evening dip in the hot springs

Day 02: Machu Picchu Cusco

Early in the morning, after a good breakfast in the hotel, we hike or take a bus up to the ruins of Machupicchu – Intipunku.  With luck, we are able to enjoy the sunrise and the impressive view of Machupicchu.  Following the two-hour guided tour of the ruins you will have the rest of the day to visit the ruins on your own.  When we’re ready, we go down by bus or hiking to Aguas Calientes. we’ll complete our trip with a train ride back to Cusco at 09:30pm (early trains available).
